A hot August Summer day in Ohio. Painting at my father-in-laws farm, I found this clearing on the edge of a creek bed. The perfect location for erecting a tent and spending the afternoon enjoying nature. The highlights on the leaves and the cast shadows made for the perfect painting composition. By the time I finished this the entire scene I was in direct sunlight.
