Maria Bauer was a model for our painting group. She recently retired and relocated from California to Ohio. I didn't realize it until I completed the portrait that she was sitting in a rocking chair. How ironic, rocking chair, retired, relaxed. I don't think I could have made a statement about her relaxed and retired status any more clear. Knowing Maria, she won't stay in that rocking chair for long.....
