September is one of my favorite times of year to enjoy the outdoors in Ohio. The humidity is gone and there is a crispness in the air. Perfect for painting en plein air (in open air). This painting depicts a country scene at Byers Woods Park in Ashland, Ohio. The morning was cool and quiet with a beautiful sunrise to the right of the barn with vivid oranges, yellows and pinks. The added bonus of sheep appeared in the scene about an hour into the painting.
