Artist's Description
While painting outdoors at Hale Farm, I noticed the simplicity of the landscape behind the beautiful tree in the foreground. It was mid afternoon so there was a nice shadow under the tree with wonderful highlights to the left. I under painted the canvas in a vivid pink so when I left portions of the canvas unpainted the vibrancy of color came through giving the painting more energy.
